It must be my weekend for a gripe. Being Mother’s Day we picked up Brian’s mother this morning to take her out for lunch and a country drive. We did not see my mother today, I am probably in the bad books but you get that.
We decided to have lunch at the Lyndoch Hotel, we weren’t sure we would get in as we hadn’t booked but there were very few cars there and we got a table straight away. I was not all that hungry so I decided to have the Roast of the Day, Joan ordered a chicken schnitzel and Brian had a chicken breast with hollandaise sauce. Aside from the fact we waited 45 minutes for our meals, the gravy on my roast and Joan’s schnitzel was like treacle, it was congealed, absolutely disgusting, we both scraped it off. It was not a cheap meal either, they charged much higher than Adelaide prices, and while I don’t mind paying good money for a good meal, that is not what I got today.
Fortunately the afternoon could only get better, and it did, what a great win by the Adelaide Crows over the Greater Western Sydney Giants, 132 points, almost a club record. I would love to know if Tom Lynch is related to Brian, this boy played a great game and his score alone would have beaten the Giants. Keep it up boys, the fans know you are a force to be reckoned with.
